Who can enter

Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years or older (19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Massachusetts). Void where prohibited. Employees of the sponsor and their immediate families are not eligible.

How to enter

Connect a fantasy league, start a rivalry, and play the week. Every settled rivalry duel is automatically entered for the scoring week it settles in. There is no fee, no subscription and no purchase at any stage.

Scoring week

A scoring week runs from one Tuesday at 6:00 PM ET to the next. A duel is entered for the week in which it settled under the published settlement rules.

How the winner is determined

Entrants who complete three or more duels in the scoring week are ranked by win percentage — duels won divided by duels decided. Duels that end tied are pushes: they count toward the three-duel requirement and are excluded from the percentage. Entrants with fewer than three duels are not ranked.

Ties in percentage are broken in this order: more decided duels in the week; higher all-time win percentage; higher average all-time win percentage of the opponents beaten in that week; more distinct opponents beaten all-time; earlier account registration. No step involves chance and no draw is used.

The standings are calculated by script from settled results. No judging, no panel and no editorial choice is involved.

Which duels are entered

The settlement rules are part of these rules, and the entry conditions in them apply here word for word. In summary, and without replacing that page:

Prizes

Cash. $50 per scoring week to the highest-ranked eligible entrant, paid by PayPal, Venmo or bank transfer at the winner's choice. One cash prize per week. The entrant who received the cash prize in the immediately preceding week is not eligible for it in the following week; that entrant keeps their rank and record, and the cash passes to the next eligible entrant.

Entries to the launch event. The three highest-ranked entrants each receive one entry to the free launch contest, limited to one entry per person per season. An entrant who already holds one passes it to the next ranked entrant. The launch contest's prizes are published before its entries close, and no purchase is necessary to enter it.

Your chance of winning depends on the results of the duels you play that week and on the results of other entrants.

Annual limit. No individual may be awarded more than $1,999 in prizes in a calendar year. A winner who would exceed that limit keeps the win and the rank; the cash prize passes to the next eligible entrant. The limit stops short of the $2,000 at which a US payer must file a 1099 for payments made from 2026 — which is the point: below it we never have to ask a free-season player for their Social Security number.

Claiming and paying

Winners are contacted through the account they played with. The sponsor may ask a winner to confirm they control the fantasy team they played — by temporarily setting their team name to a supplied code — before paying. Every payment is published on the payouts page.

Prizes unclaimed or unverified after 14 days pass to the next eligible entrant. The 14 days run from the first attempt to contact the winner through the account they played with.

Taxes

Winners are responsible for any taxes on prizes they receive.

Changes

Rules may change, and any change is published here with a date and applies from the following week. Weeks already decided stay decided.

Contest of skill

This is a free-to-enter contest of skill. Outcomes are determined by the accumulated statistical performance of multiple athletes across multiple real-world games, and reflect the relative knowledge and skill of the participants in selecting and managing their teams. Prizes are announced before each week begins and do not depend on the number of entrants.

Separately, and not part of this contest: paid contests are planned for November 2026 in eligible US states only, 18+.
